Seniors Ministry
Mission: To position our covenant seniors to offer wisdom and seasoned (salt) experiences to help our church (CRCC) grown with renewed enthusiasm in Christ by embracing life, living life, giving life, teaching life and protecting life.
Purpose: The Senior Adult Ministry is to assimilate senior covenant members and guests alike, into the life of the church by providing social events to encourage unity. Information of subjects relevant to seniors, and opportunities for ministry. (Ephesians 4:13)
Who Do We Serve? Seniors 50 years of age and older form an integral part of the CRCC family life. As we use our wealth of gifts- deep faith, wisdom, life experiences, and time for the benefit of CRCC and the surrounding community.
The homebound, hospitalized, and those in the nursing homes, we will bless through our prayers, visits, and phone calls. We will stay closely connected with our care groups and serve in all areas of ministry that line up with our vision and mission.
Activities: Starting with a monthly meeting with an agenda. This may include an activity in the future such as:
Day Trips (i.e. museums, etc)
Craft and computer workshops
Safety classes
Health and general interest issues
Exercise classes
Gardening workshops
AARP-Drivers Safety Class 55 or older
Host a teen/pre-teen- Bridging the Gap
Quarterly meetings with Pastor McLeod or Pastor Meeks
Seniors will work closely with CRCN and CRCS establishing friendships with them on a continual basis.

Interest
Medical, Social and Housing Issues
This area will focus on issues including long-term and short term medical care, medication management, giving information on resources available in the community and other relevant issues. This area will also focus on how to buy, sell and lease property as well as knowing how to make provisions for the land and real estate those seniors already own.
Shut-In, Bereavement & Needy
This area will focus on taking care of seniors who are sick and need assistance with running errands and keeping appointments. This area will also aid in dealing with the loss of a loved one.
Education and Finance
This area will focus on providing education to our seniors by having workshops and seminars on various topics. Some of the topics covered will be retirement planning, life insurance, budgeting, and teaching them how to meet their financial obligations.
Spiritual life segment
This area will focus on the spiritual life of our seniors; provide them with motivation, encouragement, prayer and one on one support- sharing the Word and receiving the Word.
Planning Department
This area will focus on planning activities and trips for both local and out of town getaways.
Bridging the Generational Gap
This area will focus on creating a connection between our seniors and the youth as well as the other age groups of CRCC.
To age with a passion and a purpose should be the direction
for anyone who wants a full and satisfying life. To want only to be
served and not to serve is a tragedy and is a loss of purpose in living.
